Spicy Fried Rigate Snacks
Chips and dips are always a great party treat. Everyone likes them, they go quickly. Did you know you can make your own spicy snacks that taste even better.
This is a very simple and easy recipe to create and your guests, if not just you, will enjoy them they will also want the recipe.
What you will need is:
500g Rigate Pasta ( you can use Fusilli, Caserecce, Anelletti, or mix it up)
Spices: chilli, salt, vinegar, the choice is yours. What's your favorite.
Cornflour or equivalent
In a large pot of boiling water add your pasta. Allow to boil for around 8 - 10 minutes till al dente. Allow to drain thoroughly and cool. Coat the pasta in a light sprinkle of corn flour, mix in and around.
To a wok add your oil of choice, enough to (cover pasta) deep fry, and heat. Add your pasta and allow the corn flour to brown slightly and then remove to a large bowl. Allow to cool.
Sprinkle your spices over the pasta turning gently to coat the pasta all over.
There you have it. Spicy pasta treats that will excite the guests and have them asking for more. They also make a great treat chilling at home.
With the different shapes you can whip up a variety of these snacks. I personally love the salt and vinegar flavor. But the Mexican mixed spice and Asian mixed spice are great too.
When the kids are asking for snacks, these are a great delicious alternative to packet chips. Pack them in plastic containers ready for the occasion.
As a special treat try them with cinnamon and sugar!
